An erect or spreading, perennial herb which roots where the leaves leave the stem. The mid-green leaves are oval and narrow and usually folded inwards along the midrib.  The pale blue flowers have two larger petals and all the flower parts are in threes.  The flowers close mid-morning.  They contain a viscous substance inside.
