A small shrub or small tree with dense dark green foliage. It bears showy pale yellow flowers which are marked with purple in the throat. The fruit is a club-shaped capsule which explodes to release its seeds.

Low maintenance. The shrub may be pruned to remove dead and dry branches or to shape occasionally.
