A deciduous shrub or small tree which is usually multi-stemmed from the base. It bears hairy, dark-green foliage with a serrated edge. The attractive mauve flowers are papery and produced in clusters towards the end of the stems. The fruit is a 4-lobed capsule that splits on the tree.

Rocky slopes on the Lebombo Mountains.
MAINTENANCE:
Low maintenance. Prune lightly to keep a neat shape.
