can i make jam of the fruit
Hi Derik
Thanks for visiting Plantbook.
Syzigium cordatum does tend to have an aggressive root system. Depending on your location, rather consider another species like Diospyros whyteana (bladdernut) or Psychotria capensis (Black Bird-berry).

How is the root system like with this tree? I am looking at planting one close to our house, about 1m from the foundations. Any alternatives you would suggest with non-aggressive root systems?
