DESCRIPTION
A small spiny shrub or multi-stemmed tree with many intertwined branches bearing sharp spines. The flowers are long, slender spikes which are half pink and the other half yellow.

This plant is instrumental in bush encroachment in areas of over grazing and poor or depleted soils across many parts of savannah areas in Africa. Not limited to Southern Africa.
