Diospyros lycioides subsp.guerkei

DESCRIPTION

A small, deciduous tree with a rounded crown of drooping branches.  The tree has a tendency to form multiple stems from the base which gives a more dense branch network.

Male and female flowers are borne on separate trees.  The pendulous cream-coloured flowers have upturned lobes and are borne in dense clusters.

The fruit is a rounded and fleshy red with minute hairs.  From a distance, they look like cherry tomatoes.
