Faidherbia albida

DESCRIPTION

A large deciduous tree with spreading branches and a roundish crown. The bark is rough and dark brown. Young branches are ashen and have a zigzag shape. The grey-green leaves are twice compound. The tree is leafless for most of the year. Straight spines are present. Pale cream flowers are borne on an elongated spike. The fruit is a red-brown curved to twisted pod.

LANDSCAPING USES
Only suited for a large area like a game park or farm where 10-12 can be scattered to provide fodder.
