Rauvolfia caffra

DESCRIPTION

An evergreen tree with a roundish crown. The bark is yellowish-brown, corky and cracked into small squares on older branches. The elongated leaves are borne in whorls of three and are glossy and leathery. It bears small, white, sweetly-scented flowers on branched heads. The fruit is a glossy black berry.
